Special Master of Labour Tenants

The Special Master of Labour Tenants (SMLT) is a role in South Africa that helps the government implement the Land Reform (Labour Tenants) Act.

The SMLT was appointed in 2019 after the Constitutional Court ruled that the government had not been doing enough to resolve labour tenant claims.
